Tonight we talked about the hardest parts of scipture for us to understand. We talked about the OT and the record of the materials brought for the building of the temple. Why does the Bible record every small detail of our lives? God cares about even the most mundane stuff of our lives. So many times we go about our days and don't think about God. But He cares about every little thing in our lives. God has a plan for each one of us. We have noticed that God's plan for our lives is a huge theme in the scriptures we have read so far. Also we talked about the holiness of God, and how we need to come into His presence often.
We talked about our sin and made a definition of what sin is. We defined it as any thought, word, deed or motive that is against the will of God. It can be of omission or comission. God holds ministers to a higher standard. Yet we are not perfect either, it is easy to fall into the trap that ministers are supposed to be perfect. But we must live in the light of God's grace and mercy, and trust him to cover our sin and heal us from it.
Our challenge is to get other people to join in our SOAP method of Bible study.
